Production Journal - Session 34. 02/12/11
Today we came into school on the strike and spent the whole day filming in the drama hall. I got my younger brother to help out and be in the band shots, he really looked like he would be in a real band!
First we started to film whole band shots, after playing around with the different lighting affects in the drama hall. We went with red, as the colour scheme for our band is red white and black. We can’t wait to play it back, everyone was enjoying themselves! We had trouble finding some drum sticks so we improvised.
There is a guitar solo towards the end of the song, and my brother had a good idea of shooting him as he learned the actual song! We set up a poker table with cards spaced out around the table with him standing in the middle. There was a spotlight on him and we filmed the shot from above and focussed on the guitar playing which looked really good!
Once we did this we moved on to filming individual band members playing their instruments or singing in my case to use as fillers throughout the video each with spotlights on them.
Finally we moved on to filming the poker scenes with Josh and Nancy.
After a hard day’s work we managed to get the majority of the filming done, and now to start editing!!
